MMP brings young voices to an international stage.  Listen as they speak through the arts to champion conservation, culture and community.

Through the program, educators and students from the US travel to East Africa, where they collaborate with top scientists, conservationists, teachers, and students from the Maasai tribe of Kenya’s South Rift Valley.  Tapping into the arts and the unbridled creativity of young minds, students from both continents join forces to complete projects based on environmental stewardship and cultural exchange.  Projects included composing original music, filming video documentaries, painting and drawing, and publishing written work in many languages.

This is a program that is changing lives and widening perspectives, even as it continues to grow. Working from a grassroots level, these educators and their team of courageous middle and high school students have formed lasting partnerships with top scientists, conservationists, and friends from Africa's Maasai tribe. It is an immersive, life-changing cultural experience.

ABOUT OUR STUDENTS

Our students are enthusiastic and willing to work hard.  They are not sitting back and waiting for this program to be handed to them.  Some have been working for more than 3 years to make this experience possible, learning what it takes to organize and finance a project like this.  Fundraising has included cell phone recycling, singing competitions, recycled jewelry, aluminum can recycling, flea markets, car washes and more.  The students are also ‘paying it forward’ by raising funds to offer scholarships for deserving applicants.

GET INVOLVED!
